1. Make mistakes;

2. Know you make mistakes;

3. Not regret making them.

That is what I call the art of living.

About people

Prisoners of time and material things. Slaves of word and emotion. Running like little rabbits, digging that hole, trying there to find their happiness. And when at last the work is done, don’t sit down – it’s time to dig another one. That’s right, when they find happiness, they go further wanting more, more, MORE. Pathetic little rabbit race. Oh, sinnerman, where you gon’ run to? But still, if I was that rock you would need, I’d hide you.

About sleep

There were several times, when after sleepless night people told me I looked great. Because we wander there, to the other side of the moon, where after one mexico follows another one. Sentenced to 100 years of loneliness, we enjoy our peace in silence.

When sky is falling

Honestly, Alicia Keys was the first who pushed me into the Black – jazz, blues and other. There was time when I listened to her a lot, but then she changed, well, along with the r&b music, I guess. It was a pleasant surprise to hear something really so damn good after a long while from her. Yesterday, I watched ,,Secret life of bees” (which is really positively vibrating film) and at the end I heard Keys’ song. It’s so tasty like honey and cottage cheese on a dark bread. Well, at least for the first 2 minutes and 1 in the end. The rest is too “na-na-na-nish”.

Inspiration of the week#4

Woman with the cheekbones. The naughty Lola. The blue angel, Marlene Dietrich. Probably one of the classiest and elegant women I admire. I saw her first in Josef von Sternberg’s ,,Blue angel” but I found actually the film more inspiring and attractive than the actress herself, whereas watching ,,Shanghai express” I absorbed every move of her finger.

The other day, I read an article about the icons of the XXth century. It was written there that somebody called an icon is usually attractive to both sexes. And actually, when I watch this excerpt from ,,Seven sinners”, I think to myself: What a woman !

“That’s the problem with drinking, I thought, as I poured myself a drink. If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen.”
— Charles Bukowski (Women)

I wonder if Bukowski ever drank to forget something bad and to celebrate something good AND to make something happen during one evening.

Here’s a toast to all the good and bad trips of queen Jane.

About facts

Mary: Facts… I’ve got million facts on my fingertips.

Isaac: That’s right and they don’t mean a thing,right? Because nothing worth knowing can be understood with the mind. Everything really valuable has to enter you through a different opening.

Mary: I really don’t agree at all. Where would we be without rational thoughts?

Isaac: You rely too much on your brain. And the brain is the most overrated organ I think.

— Manhattan (Woody Allen, 1979)
